Interesting that Caloric is making a comeback of sorts? Anybody know about this?

That's quite a collection of gobbledygoop. I never heard of or saw a whole line of Caloric kitchen apliances. The writer did not bother to say that Chambers was purchased by KitchenAid so that they could offer builtin cooking appliances. Also, stoves were never called "fireless cookers" although some might have had a fireless cooker as an accessory. We saw an old Chambers with a fireless cooker. It was an insulated jacket that was lowered over a pot on the rear burner and the linkage that lowered the jacket shut off the burner's gas valve.

Why did they use the drawing of an Amama Radar Range for the Tappan microwave?

No mention was made of Norge being owned by Fedders, although that probably is a low point for both lines.

I would hate to see this dreck used as a source for appliance history. The article reflects a level of research that would guarantee an F on a high school or college paper at the time I was in school.

I am glad you tackled this Tom, when I read it I knew that I didn't have enough time to even start making corrections.

Norge Appliances were considered solid [ maybe ] and reliable, [ what are they smoking, Norge time-line washers were well known for only lasting as little three years as early as the mid-50s ]

Chambers ranges were built with the same basic retained heat till 1960, reality, they were still being built this way when KA bought them around 1980, only off by 20 years, LOL.

I could go on and on...............................................
