more expensive Drive which for now still has phosphates
Nathan,
Actually, DRIVE is cheaper here than OMO and has been for some time and no longer has phosphates either - I'd suggest the warehouse your supermarket has been getting supplied from is running out of old stock. Furthermore, it isn't considered the 'premium' product it once was...that has now fallen to OMO Ultimate.
Olav,
As for 'plugging Miele', I think you'll find that part of the segment was filmed overseas in the Netherlands and/or the UK where they also commented about using other, market specific washing machines AND water to replicate conditions. I certainly saw a Fisher & Paykel machine more than once. Testing a front load detergent, why would you choose anything other than one of the best in the business? Also, as Fisher and Paykel command more of our top load market than any other brand, why include others?
Now, as for being a shameless plug for OMO and/or OMO products, what we don't know is how many manufacturers they approached (if any). However, it is pretty well known on this forum that Levers were one of the first to market a 'detergent' just as Port Sunlight and Sunlight soap go hand in hand. Another undisputed fact is that OMO (and DRIVE) have been top performers in Choice tests for years AND OMO has the greatest percentage of market share.....
....logic suggests that you go with what works. More people buy OMO than anything else AND it has a long standing history of being a top performer. That suggests that the article should appeal to more people than if any other brand was chosen....
Bias and info-mercial, possiblly....but they could effectively argue that they chose to report on what the majority of the market buys.....
