Broken Mixer Blade-Beater off the Stem (Is this supposed to do THIS?)

Well, NO! I don't think so!

From the next-to-last-week of Gibraltar Trade Center open for business, (now closed forever) a couple months ago:

I bought this (rather cheap, off-brand) milkshake mixer & got the ($1, but thrown in for free) package of Bug Lite light bulbs for $5, the price of the mixer:

I made at least one milkshake with it, just to find that not only did the stem fall off into the cup, but unfortunately the small beater attachment was also submerged...

If it worked twice, for $5, got your money's worth. Back to Basic cheap quality.

I had a good Hamilton Beach that I actually got from Kraft when you saw Malted Milk Powder from 'em (Chocolate, and Natural--and the latter lets you make it whatever flavor Malteds you want, so I like best!) and of course I wish I hadn't gotten rid of...

It worked to its last day (& surely beyond) but I think my mom made me discard it--it had admittedly gone unused, but I rarely used her blender--maybe this was 10-ywears-ago, when my wife & I were getting married and I was finally moving out...

My mind's reeling back a bit, and of course, I keep this mixer hidden as I don't think my daughter is ready for this given its inferior quality & her desire to use a long extension cord & make an outdoor-sidewalk milkshake stand...

When I was a kid I'd just make milkshakes in my moms Waring blender. Oster sells a "milkshake" blade online for their blenders though I've never tried one.Perhaps it just incorporates a bit more air..   

 

I do have a real commercial Hamilton Beach milkshake mixer that I got at an antique store along with 5 or 6 of the real metal milkshake containers.  It works really well.. quality stuff back then.

If you want a stick type blender-try to find an older Hamilton Beech or Waring one-go to a restaurant supply and see if they have one in the used equipment section-those will last FOREVER without worry---in the meantime use that Oster blender behind the no name new one whose mixer rod broke.You can get a 'shake blade for the Oster.
