Browser [BACK] Button

For some reason, my browser back button simply refreshes the current page. It will no longer go back to the thread listing. I am running Safari on an ipad3.

Anyone else having an issue?

Found the issue on my iPhone 3GS running whatever the latest iOS for it is. I will hit the "Back" button only to find the page refreshed. Some threads, this is continuous, others, I can hit back 2-3 times and it will work eventually. Very frustrating, nonetheless.

Checking google I see this has been reported by others on other websites as a Safari related issue. I cannot seem to reproduce this so far on my iPad. Can you guys give me a link to a thread that always does this every time? I can try to experiment to see what causes it if I can get it to do it. I've made no major code changes recently so I suspect this is something out of my control.

Does it only happen with threads with uploaded images, or any random thread? Any possible pattern you noticed when this happens? I wouldn't have noticed this otherwise because I never use the back button.

I'm running into more and more sites (and cookies) who try and block the Back function while browsing. Facebook needs to be put out of their misery imo.

Most browsers allow you to right-click on the Back icon to get a list of previously visited sites. You can always skip back using that method but it's a PITA.

OK after doing some internet research and hanging out in some of my programming forums it appears that this is a bug within Safari and it doesn't effect ever user, only certain ones. However it appears that there are workarounds that websites can implement.

So we have a wedding to go to this afternoon so I don't want to make any changes and be gone for six hours and have other bugs come up while I don't have full access.

I'll experiment with this tonight or tomorrow and let everyone know. I would like to get this resolved for safari/mac/iphone/ipad users.

Hi Guys, I'm experimenting with a fix for safari. I've made some recommended changes, but what I find is you still have to press the back button twice, but only twice now, not multiple times like before.

Can you who were having this issue let if there is an improvement. I'd still like to get it so you only have to press it once, but I suspect that is going to take more research.
