Just where GregM found that Vintage Frigidaire last week, there is a bulk-pickup in Farmington, CT. While coming home from work tonite, I saw a Vintage Maytag center dial(harvest gold...blue agitator) waiting to be tossed(on Rt. 10 in Farmington by the Mobil station). Called another member on the phone, but, he was too far away to help. What a shame to see it go to the crusher. Don't know if it worked, but anyone close might want to check out the 'trash' on the street.

You never know what you are going to pick-up on the way home from work........LOL~!

That's a good reason to have a mini-van and keep some cardboard in the cargo area. You can just back up to the piece, or walk it a bit, put the cardboard over the latch area, tip the piece against the bumper on its back or on its side if hoses are a problem and shove it in. Admittedly, with a washer the tranny oil might be a consideration and you would want to either get it home quickly or work it more upright against the back seat, but if I can do this, anyone can do this. It's really easy and there is a difference between easy and just plain cheap. I'm not cheap, but I am on special in honor of the Columbus Day holiday.
