These Geneva cabinets are available in Memphis, and the cooktop, range hood and counter savers can be included. The current auction just ended 5,700 with no bids. I think the seller still has an unrealistic idea of what he can sell them for. There are enough to finish the kitchen of my grandparents' house and my great grandmother's house. It's just beautiful, but I have to accept the fact that even though it's my house, and I can create my dream kitchen, if my husband ever lives there with me, it needs to be a kitchen he won't loathe. It's just stuff, but, sigh...

Thermador

The seller doesn't know, the kitchen has been disassembled and stored in a garage. The seller couldn't get to the drawers or the cooktop, but the cooktop looks very Thermador to me, and I wouldn't be surprised if the warming drawers are too.

My husband really doesn't like the metal cabinets and did a pouty, "well, it's your money, you can do what you want..." I decided not to get them because of his attitude, but honestly, I'm waffling.

It's such a niche market, I'm thinking they will be available for a while at this price.

Not a big fan of metal cabinets either but...  Those look pretty good, and would look fine in your very long term kitchen project.  If you get them I hope you have a security system.

How often does a deal like this come along? Talk them down, build a nice kitchen and post your progress on here!

Security system...

Matt, is this general advice or are you remembering the loss of my beautiful set of American Kitchens that got stolen?

Whether or not I get them is truly contingent on whether or not my parents will let me store it in their locked barn.

I recently decided to cave in get internet service down there only to find that it’s not available.

Sigh

Yes, I recall the theft.

As far internet, I have to believe you have some options.  Do you have cell service down there?  Some companies offer a hot spot service that will give you internet of sorts.  Also you can do the Hughes SAT service, not cheap but workable. Even if you do not have internet service you can do some sort of security system.  I have a SmartThings system, all my doors and a number of windows have sensors, if I arm the system, a great number of lights and a couple of alarms go off, certainly enough to scare someone off.  It can be done for a moderate cost.

been thinking...

about motion activated lights, cameras and sounds...

Just because you mentioned it, I looked up internet options again. You're right about satellite... it's my only option. Alas, I can hit the local telco that also offers DSL with a rock from my yard, but my telco doesn't offer internet in my location yet. The two telcos have divided up the territory so that the company that does offer internet cannot encroach on the territory of the company that does not offer internet. (cell service is iffy, data is iffier, and I have Verizon which offers the best signal in the area.

Satellite is definitely more than I would like to pay. So, I'm back to unconnected devices.
