Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Keep me posted. I have seen another Calypso listed on Craigs List, but the guy wants $100.00 for it. He was also getting codes, so that might not be of any use. How much would one of these boards cost, new?

the boards will run about $300.00....you must replace both otherwise the virus will transfer to the next and your back to square one....

I have 2 sets..KQO all the problems in the world...KQ2 never an issue

with the error LS...try unplugging for a few days, YES DAYS, they build up a static charge, and the only way to get rid of it is to leave it unplugged when not in use, also run a green ground wire from the machine to the cold water pipe, this helps alot to keep it clear....all from the advice of the technician.

let me know how you made out?

Great recomendation !!!

I leave my oasis washer & dryer unpluged when not in use .

By leaving them unpluged you also protect the boards from line spikes.

Here in Brazil there's the Brastemp "Ative!".

It's external design is interesting. Very beautiful at the first time you see the machine, horrible when you get used to the view. The lid looks like a toilet seat and internally it's nothing more than the World Washer drum with an enhanced agitator that looks and acts like a food processor's blade.

the biggest one is 11kg capacity.

Now Whirlpool is going tho Launch the "Ative!" 15kg capacity.
inside there will be a mix of "Colapso" and "Cabrio". I'm looking forward to see the crap the Frankenstein "Ativabriolypso" is going to be.

Worst of all, we have only three HE detergent bands in Brazil and all of them still a little sudsy.

I bet it could be easy to include a foam fire sprinkler cycle on the programs chart. LOL

These machines seem to last quite some time if you take decent care of them. Mine is going on 9 years now, and still going strong. Since I got a 2nd dog, it's been washing the dog's comforters, towels and rugs regularly, in addition to everything else and it's still going, kind of like that Energizer bunny on TV. Low sudsing detergent is really its key to success, even more so than a front loader.

Over the last month, I saw three Calypsos on Craigs list. All of them had pump issues. The one with Pete's control panel was rusted so bad it was beyond repair, in addition to the pump and clogged arteries. I maybe could have harvested some more parts off of it before sending the rest to the crusher, but I just couldn't figure out who would want them. These machines have a bad reputation, and the ones that don't sell often end up in Daewoos. What ever I find, I make my best effort to save.

I bought mine(Kenmore Version) used a little over 2 years ago. I had to replace the both boards last year. Other than that, we love the machine. I'm looking for the matching dryer.
