I have no idea what its age is and found no dates inside when it was apart so can one of you kind folks date this washer?

It says American gold collection on the console.

GSC9455JQ0 is the equivalent US model coding .... J in 8th position is 2000 model-year.

CL08 serial is (L) 2001, 08th week.

Daft question about the whirlpool washer

When its done the rinse and taken in the fabric conditioner why does it do a spray rinse during the final spin ? Surely that's going to dilute the FS even further? I used it yesterday did a hot wash and noticed when folding the laundry that dark items had lint bobbles, I am assuming there is no lint filter?
I admit I have only used a Maytag TL before and that did a spray rinse before the deep one which makes more sense.

The timer is programmed for a spray in the final spin.  No way to change that regards to whether or not softener is used without a revised timer and an added softener option with a switch to bypass the spray cam circuit.

GSC9455J doesn't search as a direct equivalent US model to check for sure ... but it probably has a passive lint filter (photo) attached to the underside of the spin basket.  Pumping action of the agitator pulls water through the filter during agition, collected lint is flushed off during spin.  They really don't work all that well and the filtering fingers eventually get clogged with mineral residue and lint that doesn't flush off.

The under-basket filter was later replaced by four little plugs (video) that fit from the top into the water pump-through holes under the agitator.  Some models later after the revision elimated the plugs and had nothing regards to filtering.

Nothing unusual or exclusive to the features, options, and panel layout other than some changes to the labeling (American Collection, etc.) and 230v 50 hz power.  The model numbering is different accordingly for the market area.
