I have a 1970 Kenmore 800 series piano key washer. Keeps churning away. I started using vinegar regularly in the fabric softener dispenser on whites a few months ago. Yesterday I noticed a small puddle on the floor although this time it was softener in it. Could the vinegar eat through the dispenser since it's 47 years old?

Thanks!

for a machine of that vintage, I would check the hoses/clamps and such....most times you will find a clamp that is rusted and fell off, or a loose hose...

pop the top and keep an eye on what its doing through out a cycle, could be one of those things that doesn't show up all the time.....

most times you don't want to use a worm gear clamp on something like this, as it could be over tightened, and crush the plastic fitting....

Also hose clamp-use a LOT of those here in our transmitters-however they CANNOT be used on hoses that go thru high RF area-the RF heats these up and burns them and the hose.Have to use plastic tywraps or tie with thread. You can also use the metal hose clamps that are NON magneticd.

Plastic hose clamps

There is also this style. Hoover used them on their 'New Wave' machines, and they are used on Slovenian Panasonic machines.
