Hi Guys,
I am looking for any information, pic's,experiences of the early Candy Bi-Matic twin tub. From the small amount of information I have, this machine was launched in the early 60's.
I have been offered one by a lady in London, but only know a small amount about the machine. The lady said the machine has a clear spinner lid, and the spinner is stopped by foot-pedal..??

Any info would be greatly appreciated !!
Thanks..Keith

Hi Keith.

Go get it!

It might be the same as the one that an Italian collector extraordinaire has in his collection.

Link to his video below.

Hope its of use, though there doesnt appear to be a foot pedal for the spinner on this machine, the brake being activated by the swing lever...

Hope its a goodun for you.

Take some piccies and post plesae! Eager to learn about this unusual machine.

eeeee - its all the Italian stuff coming out at the moment!

Hi keymatic,
Candy bi-matic was launched in 1957. Candy was (is) an industry placed in Italy near Milan, and bimatic was the first semi-automatic programmable italian washing machine, with rinse and spin. Design is by Piero Geranzani. It was a very innovative machine in Italy and is a must for italian collectors.

Hi Mike,

Fantastic machine !! Fine engineering, I just went to see it at the weekend, haven't got it yet, as I needed a lift with the machine out of a basement.

Nice pale green wash tub, clear spinner lid (like the early hotpoints) and still had the "Twinline" hose. the machine was like new..apparently the owner didn't use it that much. After her husband bought it for her, he left her shortly after for another woman !!...Keep ya posted.
