Carocelle Dishwasher

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

DG,

Not a chance that I saw any wringer ghosts. But I do remember when I was about six years old, being taken to someone's home, and there in the kitchen was a big wringer washer. I couldn't believe it was really a washer. Up to then the only washer I had known was a 40's Bendix. Maybe the hostess was the scary part - I remember a very large and bossy woman who had a superior air about her creepy washer. In any case, that's my first memory of a wringer and it still creeps me out just a tiny bit.

A countertop Danby sounds far more sensible (and cost effective) than a cheezy plastic water waster like the Carocelle.

Toggle,

Your mom was smart to get a hot rinse machine. But colds are not spread by dishes, not even by kisses (at least not the mouth to mouth variety). They are spread by hand, such as nose to hand to doorknob to hand to nose or eye. The mouth is not a hospitable environment for cold viruses. There are diseases that I suppose could be spread by dishes, but after a run through even handwashing any chance of cross contamination would be virtually nil.

Agreed.

Machine dishwashing kills 100 X more germs (literally, not an exageration (sp?)) than hand dishwashing.

I read that same facts you jsut mentioned.

Toucing one's eyes by the bridge of the nose is were most microbial contaminants enter the human body and leads to colds.
