Ok I finally found this pic. Yes I owned a 1976 AMC Pacer when I was in high school. I think this was taken in 1977 when I still had hair LOL. jamman_98 Joe
I keep losing track. I think I've had about 19 cars. Here are some of them.
The top image shows the 1978 Ford Econoline ("The Cool Van"), the 1970 Thunderbird, and the 1969 Thunderbird in the background.
The next picture shows the day that I traded in my 1975 Lincoln Continental Town Car (VERY pimpy straight from the factory) for my first 1993 Lincoln Town Car.
The next one shows my roommate's grey 1989 Ford Probe, my mother's red 1990 Ford Probe, and my 1989 grey Ford Probe. (My sister had a black 1989 Ford Probe, and I later bought a red 1989 Ford Probe.)
The bottom picture is of my 1975 Volkswagen Kombi Camper Van.
Here is a picture of my mom, in her brand new, 1979 Pontiac Trans-Am. Dad had always lusted for a brand new TA, and after owning two used ones (a 1970 and a 1975), mom and dad laid down the cash for this beauty, and special ordered this beautiful Firebird. Look how the 4-speed 400 car shimers under the parking lot lamps - one damn cool car. Too bad they sold it when they found out I was in the mix of things
1979/1980 was an interesting time for GM. Quite a few 'lasts' for many things - the Pontiac 400, the Olds 403, the Buick 350, pulsating Frigidare washers...
I can't let mom have all the attention with the '79 - here is dad getting ready to do a pass in a 1970 Buick GS Stage 1 (yes, it was a real one). I grew up thinking someday I'd get this car - it too is no longer around.
WAAAAAH! I wish I had a scanner; I have two favorite cars from my past---my first car, which was a '69 Olds Delta 88 with a 455 4-barrel (2-door in forest green with a white vinyl top), and my beloved '86 Camaro Z28 (dark metallic red with gold ground effects).
Ok, SIgh.. I have had 36 Cars scince 1999... To many to count.. Miss both my white Explorers (94 and 98) the most, followed by my 1999 Taurus and my 86 Sentra and 88 Camry Wagon (my free and $500 cars). Good cars i drove the crap out of and they lasted forever... Not as much fun as anythign you guys posted but hey
Here is a photo from about 1998. We raced 4-cylinder modified stock cars for a while. This is a Pacer sedan body on a Mustang II chassis. We sold the car before we got it finished.
This is a 1974 Gran Torino. I've had it for almost 4 years now. It has 130,000 miles on it. It had only 95,000mi when I bought it. I drove it all the way from minnesota to arizona. Done some work to it, but it runs great. Never left me stranded. Unfortuneatly gets only 15mpg.
This isn't my car, but it belongs to a friend. I got to ride around in it all day. I had a blast. Mostly rode in the rumble seat. Its a 1931 Pontiac. I really wasn't driving, just looks like it for the pic. As well to the other pics I've posted I also have a 60 Thunderbird, 61 Falcon, (2) more 65 ford trucks, 69 and 70 ford vans, 71 ford ltd, and a 79 ford truck.
Hey. I like the Torino. I haven't seen one in YEARS. My parents had a red and white Ford Elite. Great car and I haven't seen one of those in about 20 years.
Speaking of cars. I hate what some people (the hip-hop crowd) are doing to our classic 70s and 80s cars. Jacking them up and putting big tires on them.
Oh, getting bad gas mileage? Try this website. Change your driving style and gain some mpg.
My first car was a '79 Plymouth Horizon, what a POS! Next was a 78 Ford Granada Ghia, next a 91 Plymouth Acclaim, 98 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, and now a 03 Chrysler T&C minivan. I guess I'm a Chrysler kinda guy.
