That's my favorite style Bendix - we had one in the early 50's - and of course congratulations on finding one, especially such a special, new old stock, commemorative one.

I think it would look nice if you were to have the "silver" parts nickel plated, and the gold parts replated gold.

I'm not thinking of using this machine as I have another pre-war Bendix and lighted (fabulous) sign that goes with it (see picture for sign - Mike K and I were being naughty with Robert's SU-Bendix hybrid - Only use Rinso for best results in your SuperBendiMatic!) Perhaps someday I'll let "Goldie" do a washing - for a special wash-in....

Replating had crossed my mind - there is a plating shop here that I used for the 57 Control Tower that was really taken with the design of that, I wonder what they'd think of this machine! (after they stopped rejoicing at the $400 bill ;-)
