Hi everyone! Hope you’re all well. Today, I made what is hands down the most random appliance find I’ve ever had. I was at an antique farm equipment show in Nichlosville today, and saw someone that had a beautiful 1960 Chevy pickup. Me and the owner got to chatting about it, and what all had been done to it. He mentioned it being a labor of love to keep vehicles like that going, and I mentioned that I collect vintage appliances, and that it’s the same story here. He then told me that he had something he thought that I might want. He told me that he had purchased a truck bed style camper from 1969, and that it still had all of its original kitchen fittings. He and his wife were renovating it, and no longer wanted the avocado green Holiday drop in range. He said that he was feeling guilty about scrapping it, as it was still in very nice shape. He said they were also junking the Electrolux refrigerator, as it had no door to it when they got it. He said that he would be thrilled if I would take them and get some good out of them. He had me at the part about the stove being avocado green, so of course I said yes. Fast forward a couple of hours, and both machines were in my hands. The fridge will most likely be a parts donor, as it’s in pretty rough shape. The range, however, is getting saved for my collection. I’ve always thought that the vintage RV stoves are cute, but have never seen anyone in the community do anything with one. Does anyone else have one of these micro ranges in their collection? Also, what’s the smallest range you’ve seen? This one has to win the award from me.
Thanks,
Thatwasherguy.

Mini LP gas three burner drop in range

I always thought these were so cute and have had numerous chances to get one, but I’ve never bothered as I couldn’t figure out what to do with it.

Might be fun if you build an outdoor kitchen or something and you could hook it up and use it alongside a traditional outdoor gas grill maybe.

Bad thing about this is it’s not very powerful. It would probably take a month to boil a pot of water to cook corn or something with only 5000 BTU burners.

The oven is also quite small but would probably work you broil underneath the burner at the bottom of the oven but again I don’t think the broiling performance would be very significant but it certainly is fun

The absorption refrigerator is probably pretty worthless. It was hard to even get those to freeze water, but if you have no electricity, I guess it’s better than nothing.
