there seem to be quite a bit of American nostalgic appliances and cars out your way.
Classic cars form the 50's through the 80's also. The Netherlands also looks to be very clean, free from litter mostly, unlike Rome for example. More like Sweden. Am I only seeing the best photos posted on Google maps?
I see younger Americans littering the streets today, and no it is not only our people of another race. I live in a nice area, and have watched this change in the past decade and one half of the prior one.
I suspect one or both parents are working well over 40 or even 50 hours per week, and are not teaching proper discipline. Their teachers are also over worked, leaving only the academic aspect for scheduled lessons.

Thank you Bob, I already thought it was a 606 pair. I've seen washer and dryers from that age before on this side of the pond, but most of them were lower end models.

American appliances and cars were widely sold overhere in Europe, especially in the Netherlands. I think that is because of our big port Rotterdam, there was a lot of trade traffic between the USA and Europe and a lot went through Rotterdam. I remember neighbours had a GE toploader from the mid 50's (I think it was a 55 model) and an acquaintance grew up with a GE washer and dryer set at home. Bendix was also imported, the first Bendix washer entered the country in 1948.
The same for cars, a lot of American cars were imported from until the mid seventies IIRC. When the energy crisis in 1973 hit us hard, American cars became less popular, although I remember a few families who had late 70's models.

The fact that these appear to still be in use certainly says something for how well built and durable Maytag made their machines. I have always thought them to be the best money could buy at the time.

Well...I would be interested in it.
Wondering if seller is willing to put the washer on a pallet and give it a wrap of somthing and send....
Looks like the cabinet and lid needs some repainting job, tub looks good.
If dryer was gas I would be interested in it too....
Almost tempted to get on my truck drive all the way up to Holland now that I have some days at home.
I think a courrier would be better.
It depends by its price and courrier and fact it needs repainting.
I might try to contact them.
Always wanted a maytag like those, and with the old transmission..and long and slower agitation, I think it was much better, I only had granma's performa and the coin operated maytags, great machines, but these are much better.

Who knows if they are 220 volts or 120v.
Some models this old I found here in Italy were 220 volts, so was the maytag wringers but who knows....
Anyway....my converter will do just like it did for the kenmore.

Ok.....
So the seller told me he won't sell them separately...which is bad because dryer is electric and if I am going to re sell it here it's gonna be hard since nobody wants electric dryers, he seems quite reluctant to let me know the voltage of the washer which lets me understand is a 120 volt....cannot also tell me if working order or not as well.....
So is going to be kind of a surprise....I may get a working maytag as a faulty one....
He cannot tell me a price...but said me "make a good offer or I will still keep them for display like they've been for 20 years".
I will look for courrier rates and will make my offer based on that cinsidering I could not care less of the dryer and I do not know what to do with it.
I do not really like the attitude of this guy...pretty rude.....so if he thinks is going to be more lucky finding a buyer that buys a 120v washer and dryer that needs paint job, that sat for 20+ years and working condition is a question mark ...well....just let it be.

In case I just hope he is not of the kind of people that thinks changing a plug is what you need and tried it first time he got it burning the motor down, or I might need to add a new motor to the bill.
