Yay, Welcome Home David and Dennis

Wow David and Dennis, I for one am sure glad hear the news. Welcome home, it will be fabulous to have you guys back. Just as we meet you told me you were moving to Hawaii.

Spring, summer and fall ... oh my ... I love ALL of Minnesota's seasons. They are so pronounced and vibrant.
God is that ever the truth Geoff, I would be miserable living without real seasons, and very few major metropolitan areas in the world get four real seasons like we do.

Little wonder your area of Minnesota was just acknowledged as the most literate place in the United
I just read that too Mike, does that mean I have to read a book, no don't make me!

Mike ... I've been hearing that bit of news today, too. Minnesota has been known for it's educational standards for years. Both my grandmother and my father were teachers; both taught in Minnesota one-room school houses for years. My grandmother retired from it; my dad went on to teach high school and retired in the mid-1970's.

Robert ... after living away from the 4 WONDERFUL seasons for quite some time and then coming back about 15 years ago, I don't think I could live in a place without them any more. We MARCH out of winter and into spring in clearly defined climate changes; all of Minnesota's seasons are clearly defined!

Minnesota's sesquecentennial is this coming May; May 11th, actually. 150 years of Statehood!! :-) I've been reading some recent (turn of last century information) Minnesota history books from the library lately. I've been mostly enamored with the photos from the 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, 1960's. The snowfalls were TERRIFIC! Farm life EXTRAORDINARY!

There's nothing quite like fresh food from the farm; I've had LOTS of fresh milk from the cows (non-pasturized;non-homoginized) and I'm still alive to talk about it. You can still drive down our country roads and find signs for "Fresh Eggs". I bought my Halloween pumpkin this year from kids on the side of the country road selling them for $2 or $3.

Gotta love it.

Hi Geoff ! Hi Robert and Friends!

Geoff"You can take the boy out of winter but you can't take winter out of the boy. Been dying to switch to" fresh milk from the cows (non-pasturized;non-homoginized) and I'm still alive to talk about it" So glad you are. What an endorsement!

Robert: One of the best presents ever was a "book" the "Easy Deluxe Spindrier Manual" at 25 pages in length. With all the manuals and pages and pages of washer stuff you regularly consume, your are truly reading "books" and don't know it. Why, you're a regular washer Bookworm!!! ;'D

Thanks to all for the kind words and warm wishes!

It is so nice to hear from everyone who both posted here and also sent private emails (I'm having some email probs and so I haven't wrote back). It will be so grand to get together with everyone and getting off this rock improves my chances greatly!

Tom-We are taking our old buddy Kittyboy with us-he came here with us . This time he will be traveling with us in the cabin in a Sherpa bag. I hope he will not be Mr. Howl that day...

We are not taking anything large such as the Kenmore HE3t; in fact I can't WAIT to get 5,000 miles away from that f&*$#ing thing. I really am quite bored with wet-nap washers that cannot decide whether or not they want to spin that day. I may even get a belt drive Whirlpool...

Toggle/Steve- I will be taking some pictures, but is there anything specific you want? I almost forget that Hawai'i seems magical to many of you-I guess that I am now jaded and bored with it. Martha and Mark are going to be taking us out on a boat trip soon, so that should be an opportunity for some pix.

See you all soon!

ya'll' are gonna freeze your macadamias off!

Thank you kindly. Whatever you can do will be great.
Odd appliances. Odd (i.e. area-specific) customs/ building techniques.
Beautiful exotic plantlife...whatever you think is unusual to the rest of us.

I'm guessing a move of such great distance means divestiture of most if not all non-essentials?

I recall getting stranded in Orlanda one March - the airline simply cancelled the flight without (as far as I can tell) any real attempt to notify ticket holders. I spent a lot of time in the airport waiting for an alternate flight. But since it wasn't a holiday period at least things were not crowded. Never did find out the reason for the cancellation.

Re: Happy New Year, David & Dennis and:

I wish you both well and hope that your transition back to the Main Land goes well for you. As you've mentioned in one of your Postings here above, your not shipping your Kenmore's. Are you going to be selling them, or are they staying with your "Little Grass Shack" on Maui?

I'm sure that you will no doubt be able to locate something in a Belt-Drive when you get settled in your new surroundings.

Do you have an "ETA" of leaving Maui and making your return as of yet?

Know that we all will be thinking about you and will be Praying for a safe Travel and Journey.

Peace, Blessings, Love of Friendship, Hugs and Aloha, Steve
