Here's a great Frigidaire bottom mount refrigerator, judging by the shape and the trim/colors, maybe a 1956? There are others here who have companion appliances - don't you need this one to compliment your collection???

Nice fridge, but:

Aside from the bad door gasket, the ad says "it worked ten years ago." I wonder if it works now. You'd think they would plug it in and see considering the exorbitant price they are asking.

Beautiful, but

As bad as it is to defrost a top freezer box, at least you do not have to kneel on the floor to do it like you would with this one.

A couple of years ago, we drove to Lincoln, NE to look at a '56 version of this model. It was in worse shape and still the high price. It was a beautiful refrigerator, but not worth breaking the budget for in only so-so condition. They are really pretty though.

Maybe the cord is bad, or they're worried about the wiring. Either way, a lot o' money for an untested machine.

with the air vent in the top,is this an early frostless fridge?
-looks like it must be fan-forced at least.

The freezer on these is manual defrost, the fridge is cycla matic defrost,in other words a chiller plate forms a fine layer of frost while running,then when the machine is off it warms up enough to thaw,most of the older ones had no fan forced cooling,these had the plate concealed and circulated air over it,Westinghouse had a similar system called the Cold Injector,this system was called Flowing Cold...it is a 56.

Is it me or am i missing something. The top section looks like the refrigerator section and the bottom would be the freezer. With the hydrator draws and compartments on the door inside would make me think this is the refrigerator part. The ice bucket belongs in the lower section of the freezer door. This appears to be a frost free unit, looks something like my parents had in the 60's
