I have never seen anything so cool in my life........it is a sign that has a working Versatronic Dryer Sensor built  to demonstrate how the Versatronic Dryer Control works..........PAT COFFEY

I remember seeing one at Rich's, but they must have a defective brain circuit to think this thing is worth that much.

Maytag had a display for the HOH and SOH models. RCD's shop had an SOH electronic control display out on the floor up until recently.

GE Electronic Dryer Demonstration Unit

This is neat for a Serious GE fan, [ would make a great stocking stuffer for Mathew S, GE Extra Rinse ] .

 

Jon this is just the dryness board out of a late GE clothes dryer, the circuit boards operation is explained in great detail in GEs excellent service manual for these dryers. I even have a brand new sensor panel for one of these dryers laying around so it would be easy to make one of these if one wanted to.

 

Does anyone remember the demonstrator that Sears used to show off their electronic sensor dryers in the mid 1960s?. The demonstrator was a woman's hand that had two rings on two different fingers and the salesman would place a piece of clothing in the hand of the demonstrator [ it was a manikins hand ] and a light would light up saying either [ I Know Its Dry  or I Know its Wet ]

Switch it on

Touch a damp cloth to the sensor board; the light comes on. Touch a dry cloth, it stays off. Just a simple demonstration of the moisture-sensing capability.
