Hi all

One for the Servis fans out there (ChesterMike this one is dedicated to you in particular).

Tantalisingly without photo, but the description sounds like it might be worth a punt.

Best of luck to whoever goes for it!

David

PS - if anyone comes across a 'hardly-used' 1502 or 1509, please think of me...

Hi Mike,
Just saw the advert, looks interesting, I have messaged him as well, I have got some things off this guy over the year's, he is an ok guy, and lives not far from my parents.
Is this the holy grail....
Cheers
Keith

Don't hold back

Mike I would be so happy to see your Servis dreams come true,

Well done David for flagging it up, hope your feeling better.

Ps I'm still dreaming of an English electric liberator but this is a Servis Thread and I hope this proves to be Mikes Dream machine.

Been offline, for a day or so and look what pops up.

When i saw it, i did think that i had seen one before and that it wasnt a Servis.

Yep - deffo a Parnall Spinwasher.

But still most certainly deserving of preserving. Mid to late 1960s?

Go for it Mike (no pressure though). Be a menace to arrange collection for.

Parnnall Spinwasher

My Nan had a Burco "spinwasher" I was told in a previous post that they were very similar machines. If anyone has a pic that would be great.

Paul.

Deffo a Servis......Not..!!!

Oh well I`ve been down that road many times, next time perhaps!! the last time saw an add in a local paper - Top Loader For Sale - phoned up and the man of the house answered..."Wifes out, dont know what it is, all I know back & forward thing, panel on top with switches, sure it begins with an "S"....well yes it did begin with an "S" but this one I wasnt reckoning on!!!...Lol

I saw that on ebay too

I also saw that washer, asked for more pics but he said its at his parents house!

We are so staved of good toploaders here in the UK!!!!!!

I can think of other Top Load machines if that is what they wanted...and certainly better ones of the same vintage (or when new) than a Delta..

...but horses for courses. If that is what rocked their boat then so be it. They are certainly simple and reliable.

Lol

Chris would this have been MOL or BOL then?? The couple had returned back to UK after emigrating many yrs ago with work, so I suppose it was pack everything if it was being paid for!!

I love this machine, was talking with Tom Turbo (where is he, we need hime back!!!) when I got this and he said it was similar to the Whirlpool World washer series in the way the motor was set up and run...love the long slow strokes as opposed to back & forth we see over here!!! such a simple design, everything fixed to the drum and slung from the cabinet top.

Simpson Delta 10's

Hey Mike

I didn't know you had a Simpson Delta! From about 1976, Simpson came out with 3 different lines of automatic washers: The small 'Minimatic', the medium size 'Delta 10' and the larger '100' series.

The original Delta 10 had the full size gearbox from the larger series and was a big seller here in Oz. There are still many of these machines going 20 odd years later.

Your model would be more a MOL possibly TOL version of the Delta series. Glad you're enjoying it!

Leon
