Does anyone else get a little annoyed with the radio stations playing nothing but Christmas music from Thanksgiving till Christmas day 24/7?

Here in the Altanta area just about ALL the radio stations do just that. I'm not a Scourge but it gets a little old by the time Christmas gets here!

Yes - it's annoying

OK - Christmas music is a bit annoying, especially when it was 55 degrees and sunny in Minnesota last weekend. I might be more receptive with a little snow on the ground. Our neighborhood is full of gigantic blow up animated Christmas ornaments (snowglobes, snowmen, nativities) - all sitting on brown lawns.

On a side note, My partner and I did see a Christmas tree vendor yesterday that had several different shades of flocked Christmas trees (purple, orange, pink and blue). The pink ones were really cool.

Thanksgiving day

My wife and I was in South GA on Thanksgiving day it was 68 degrees. On Friday it got to 72. Today the high is in North GA will be 70. Saw people in shorts this past weekend.

Hard to make it Christmas it being so warm.

Grr.....too much already! But the spoofs/parodies are KEWL

"I saw daddy kissing Santa Clause, underneath the Mistletoe one day." Yada Yada Yada. ".."But it was only mommy in disguise."

Works the first 300 hundred times a season. LOL Imagine? Mommy functioning as Daddy's beard. OH MY!

In the New York market, the radio stations owned by one major syndicate recently had a mass layoff of overnight DJs and on-air personalities, so they could introduce new "human-less" formats.

It just so happened to coincide with the Christmas season, so programming endless holiday tunes bought at least two of these stations additional time to work out the technical "glitches" involved...

Luckily, only one station here goes 24/7 with the Christmas music. The rest just mix some in with their regular programming. We play the all Christmas music station in the reception area of my office. The clients don't mind since they are only seated there for a few minutes. It is convenient for parties and such - don't have to own many Christmas CDs, just turn on the radio.

We have two or three... Yes it is annoying, esp. when you are stuck in line for 20 min. and you here Jingle Bells once, go shop someplace else and here the same damn thing over again..

I do wish they would play the parody about Grandma got run over by Grandpa, or some other parodys.. Then i wouldn't mind..

A soft rock station in Houston (Sunny 99.1 to be exact) has had a tradition of playing nothing BUT Christmas music until after Christmas (or the new year I forgot which), beginning the day after Thanksgiving. I put my radio on it one night to try to get in the "spirit", so to speak, but annoyingly pissed me off instead so it's back to AM for a while. I'll have to try it again later on in the month, LOL.

Really, all Christmas music wouldn't be bad if they didn't play the same old mierda over and over and over and over again, but only a few artists have gotten creative so it remains annoying.

I agree with the paradies. lol.

I think of Dr. Demento in the early 80s. There was one that was like
"Merry Christmas, to me,
the dog threw up all over the christmas tree,
they repossessed my color TV,
have a very, merry christmas, to me"
I haven't looked that hard, but I haven't found it yet.

I think I would like to see a "daddy" kissing Santa clause as I can definately get into the mature bearded man thing. :oP ...but then perhaps there are certain movies already encompass this.

Special Xmas

XM radio just started running channel 107, billed as their "special xmas" for your dysfunctional family. Nothing welcomes in the Holiday season like the Del Rubio Triplets version of the Christmas Polka! I love it! Except when they play Burl Ives. They do run the gamut of every odd, unusual and wacky Christmas song.

And here in lovely Las Vegas, we'll have a high of 43, high winds and a low of 29! Time to turn on the seat warmers and get out the coat and gloves.

I forget the other person who did it...

but I just love Dixie Chicks' "Merry Christmas From The Family." Love it.

The other artist did it well, too, but I forget his name at the moment.

I don't listen to radio a lot anymore. Can't abide ClearChannel, and don't want to pay for Sirius.

Whats worse is the mailorder catalogs advertising and promoting-pushing christmas stuff in AUGUST when its 95 degrees outside!I don't like listening to the "big box" radio stations either.
