We got our tree done today - a live Balsam Fir. They are pretty and smell wonderful, but the boughs are rather weak in the lower regions. (the star on top flashes, but is hard to catch with a camera)

This is a wire tree I found at Pottery Barn years ago, all vintage ornaments I have found at estate sales or belonged to my grandparents. For "company" we put it on the dining room table but it's out of harm's way now.

Haven't put it up yet, but here's a pick of my aluminum tree from last year.
Have you guys seen the "limited edition" or whatever NOMA bubble lights at Wal Mart? They're in a replica of the first (or at least an early) box. They were 10 bucks and change and I got a set yesterday.

Screwing in the bulbs is half the fun of decorating the tree!
This year about half of mine burned out the minute I put them in. May need to start finding some replacements....
