The Westinghouse Museum staff say there is a difference...

Do you have a genuine Westinghouse roaster or a Hamilton Beach roaster? The staff at the GWM say that Westinghouse had a more accurate thermostat and that HB roasters tend to burn. So many people have Westinghouse roasters, they just won't die!

Mine is a westinghouse,The glass thermostat knob lights up
when it is heating and goes off when up to temp. I have found replacement blubs at radio shack.I have blue bakeing dishes which I am told are the hardest to find.It was on its way to the dump when I rescued it!!!!!!!

Mother-in-law had the Westinghouse roaster with the base was such a nice roaster. After all the kids left home and she was by herself gave it to the church. My wife had a cow wanted it so bad. Ended up buying a Hamilton Beach for her. Bakes well and roast great. All the children have them also along with my mother use them all at holidays for family gatherings.

Church Picnics??

I grew up in the Church of Christ in west TX. We used to have potlucks all the time, and the food was always amazing! One of the popular Church of Christ things to do was a potluck dinner and singing. Since the C of C sings only A Capella, it's easy to gather and sit down and sing any old time, and the four part harmony was always wonderful.

Once in a while, we would have "ice-cream suppers," which was like a potluck, but everybody brought a freezer of home made ice-cream, cookies, brownies, etc. Often, of course, this would be accompanied by a singing.

I've since retired from the C of C, but these are some great memories that I still enjoy thinking about.

Yep, Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church here in Pensacola, where I go has events like that.
