Well we paid a visit to johns in order to complete repairs on Hotpoints first twinny the Supermatic 1400, its proving to be difficult just in accessing the parts to fix to micro switches that control spin motor / & brake etc....but nearly there...heres the two models with cabinets sprayed & new hoses just ready for their microswitches!!

Next Repair is

Fannys Twintub....Hoovermatic, I get a call a few weeks ago from Neil, who was doing a midnight wash and the safety latch had busted on the twinny, so I told him how to release it to get the clothes out...these machines where the first Hoovers to have the mandatory interlock , brake stop and use a cable from the switch on the front to the workings underneath, very prone to breaking...

So Neil phoned 30mins later effing & blinding that, "he`d managed to open the spin lid, remove the clothes, and put them into a seperate Hotpoint Spinner...only to forget to pull the hose from the back and proceeded to flood the utility room & garage... "So thats it, I....`ve had enough, they can all go on ebay the effing lot!!! I`m getting an automatic!!!! Lol

Heres Neils Hoovermatic on the right with the now fixed spin lid release...

The Previous Day

Neil went down to his local house clearence shop and asked..."Any Automatics" owner said two are coming in , come back later, dont know the condition, ones Hotpoint & ones Hoover....

Neil phones and asks can you fetch my twinny over for fixing and Oh by the way the fells is dropping off my new wesher!!!

John phones me and says, what do you think about Neil getting an auto, I hope its a good one, meaning classic, or he will be so naffed off if it has long washtimes...I said you watch, i`ve got a feeling he`ll find a classic and not even know...

So John pulls up at Neils to collect the twinny and as he is reversing into the drive nearly crashes the car as "Fannys New washer" has just been dropped off and is in the middle of the garage being watched by John through his reversing mirror...The air has been blue since..and John has been throwing money to try & get this machine...."Not A Chance" says Neil..."Am Avin It"

We take Neils twinny back on Sunday to "See new Machine" we are not dissapointed,!!!!
