I saw this at a customer's house while working on a beautiful 806 washer. She says it works. She wants to give it to someone who'll have fun with it. Free... She said it was from the 60's.

Oh by the way, did I say there was a catch?

Here it is. It's down in a basement with this stairwell to face. It made it down those stairs... Anyway, it's available for free. Just email me if you need more info...

By the way, two more things.

1)All I can see that it needs is a good cleaning and tlc on the paint and gaskets repaired/replaced.

2) I plugged it in for a few minutes only (I was on the clock) and the fans, etc were running. I couldn't wait long enough to check cooling but she says is was working when unplugged a while ago...

I saw one of those once.

The fridge portion isn't big, and it isn't great for holding big things (party trays) but it is genuinely one of the most innovative designs of refrigerator I have ever seen. It is also very well made to boot. My folks recently got an Amana (Whirlpool) double-door fridge with a bottom freezer that wouldn't hold a candle to this GE in terms of quality and innovation. SAVE THIS PLEASE!

Why don't they make new ones like this?

I have one!!!!!

Thats exactly the one I have,it runs quiet and freezes nicely. It was going to be thrown away.Mine has blue snowflakes on the light lens inside.I think it from the late 50s and its white it holds a mountain of ice trays, the only drawback is the top section is not very deep it will not hold the party trays from Costco, but my 1930 frigidair in the house will, its deeper. Its very heavy!!!!!!,the work center is a nice feature. Its in the garage,I need to paint it.Inside it cleaned up like new,but Im having a hard time getting mildew off of the gaskets around the doors. What should I use??? Thanks Bobby

Very nice, hope someone gets it... That is the most dangerous intersection of stairs, i have ever seen in my life.

Wow, this would be great for garage use. If I didn't already have a freezer in the garage or had more room in there.......

Almost as bad

As the flight of stairs that Toggles and I had to move the A 806 up a few shorts weeks ago. Had to bring it out the door, then turn the machine and hand carry it up the stairs to a metal grate. Then on to the concrete. Was a difficult move.

If I decoded it correctly - it was built in November of 1964. The trim on it looks a bit newer than that of my pink 1962 GE.

These are pretty slick RCD! I agree though - it got down there somehow. Brute force and an motorized appliance cart should be able to get it out!
