Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Norfrost

IIRC these twintubs were built by Velaundry in Barendrecht in NL, who also built Velo wringer washers. Unfortunately in the later years the quality went straight down the drain, they are not even worth the thought of buying them. Sad to see one of the few Dutch appliance manufacturers go like that.

I believe they were made in Holland too. Even if the quality is not so good as earlier years, I still think they are interesting and I think maybe one of the last, if not the last European manufactured twin tubs. Of course going back to the late 1950s and early 1960s the cheapest twin tubs we had here were Rolls, a Dutch design and originally manufacture

One of the members of the German forum bought a Velo agitator washer, similar to the Norfrost but without the spindryer. Within the first week the transmission totally fell apart beyond repair. The Velaundry company didn't help him out, he was on his own in this. End of the story was that the machine ended up at the trash.

Stokvis was a Dutch company too (R.S. Stokvis became Erres later). I guess the twintubs sold under the Stokvis name in the UK must have had Dutch roots too.

I'm ashamed that no one

I maybe don't post that much on here but i do appreciate viewing your classic UK monthly posts. Always love seeing what you will find. Take that lovely Belling Classic, i can remember it very well.

Your posts are always appreciated, you usually manage to find the kitchens that I miss. I was just taking another look at that lovely olive green one, didn't notice at first that it's only the doors and drawer fronts that survive. And as usual its miles away. I'm slightly puzzled why the ceiling coving stops short of the door/window frame too.
Ian.
