Mixmaster & Blender

These seem to be listed at crazy process recently, this is more reasonable. Missing the smaller bowl and yes, the beaters are in the wrong way round. Its another example of plastics discolouring at different rates, when this mixer was new it would all have been the same colour as the stand, I am not sure I have ever seen one of these that has not discoloured

It may even be a bit later than mid 70's, the oven door pattern is the same as on my Aunts 40073 Carefree, purchased in late 79 early 80 to replace an original Carefree from the early 50's.
I'm intrigued by the new BBC2 series starting tomorrow 'Time For Dinner' the trailer shows a 1950s gas cooker and a Creda Hallmark but I can't identify the cooker in the middle, looks a bit like a Belling Compact but the fascia looks to be all silver.

ps Did you get the Supertwin 70?

Actually Ian, you caught me on a bad bit of editing there - I had originally written that it would have been first iteration so mid 1970s when I noticed the handles making it the second iteration, I think there was a third with different knobs before the whole fascia was re-designed.

I am going to watch that "Time For Dinner" myself but without too much hope as I expect it will be the usual how primitive, how dreadful, how did they manage etc. I still shudder at the memory of an earlier series where the mother (who was not that much younger than me) was incredulous on how to use a twin tub. My natural cynicism makes me think these events were staged ....

I noticed a Belling Compact too which would be a bit odd as I thought it would have been roughly contemporary with the (late version) Jackson Hallmark - both 1980s although in point of fact the Belling would have been little different from its 1960s predecessor.

I did buy the Supertwin 70 although thus far I have not had time to do anything with it - I do know how to use a twin tub though :)
