Hi Everyone, I would guess that most of us have seen the Clorox commercial of late that deals with the companies history? It shows several washing machines in the commercial. Looks like there is a Westinghouse front loader and a matching dryer. Does anyone know the brand name of the wringer washer in the commercial? I have written an e-mail to Clorox but they don't know the brand of the washer. They told me that they outsource their commercials and have no way of knowing. Inquiring minds like mine want to know. Thanks for your help. ABC-o-matic

Odd thing about the Westy FL'er; the large-ish door opens to the side. I've never seen that on a Westy before. I've only seen them open downward.

No idea of the makes of the other machines, especially the control-free TL'er. Interesting commerical, though. NIce wringer washer pictured.

I believe that Westinghouse FL is a 1966 or 1967 model with the side-opening door. There's a POD that runs from time to time featuring these machines.

The only Westy front loader

I know of with a side-swing door is a "full size" one with the backsplash mounted controls, and '66-'67 would be correct for it.

Guess I am going to have to watch some television to see this fascinating sounding ad!

Thank you, Brett-

I am not only on dialup, but on webtv, and webtv does not support Java.

Will take this thread to the public library this week, and look at it then.

Thank you, again!

westinghouse washer

That is truly a westinghouse washer. I had one very much like that one years ago. It was very good washer.

My college roommates family had that very same washer, I first saw it in 1968. They did seem to have a lot of problems with it and in 1971 they got a brand new set of Westinghouse machines when they had returned to the drop down door. Terry
