Hi !
I picked up some unused (NOS) CLUB aluminum pots at an estate sale.
They are Harvest Gold. Bare aluminum inside / no interior coatings.
Can I put them in the dishwasher and not ruin them?

I appreciate any insights.

I would recommend that you don't... even though dishwasher detergents are less harsh than they once were, aluminum will still get dull and discoloured.  I have a beautiful set of Club Aluminum (turquoise, natch) and I won't put them in even one of the short-cycle dishwashers.  Hubby put a mint Presto pressure cooker in the Maytag in St-Lib once and that was all it took to mess it up but good!

I wouldn't, but I always hear aluminum mentioned as either a "no no" or "very problematic". I personally might gamble with a well worn pot of no value, especially if I were feeling lazy that day...but something like this that's in mint condition would not see a dishwasher, ever.

Shouldn't bother luv....

Aluminum is easily harmed by alkaline substances, and automatic dw detergent is rather high on pH scale.

Have a set of same but got for free; haven't bothered to use yet so cannot say how well they clean up.

Did use another aluminum pot to boil things in with a bit of sodium percarbonate; and insides once pristine now are dull and in some areas darkened.

The nice and shiny new tub of my Hoover twin washer was dulled by using vintage powdered Cheer detergent.

So that's me for you.

Congratulations on your find!

Regular washing with SOS or Brillo Pads will make the interiors gleam and become so smooth they are almost non-stick. You have to be careful to clean the exterior porcelain very will with regular hand dish washing detergent because any grease or food residue will burn on and create stains.

That would be a 'no'.

Stuff cooks really well and is easy to clean. SOS pads work great. I recollect an American aunt with Club cookware who sprayed the inside with PAM before cooking - it really helped on clean up.

NO aluminum!

In the DW, all my vintage aluminum looks new because I wash it just as the book says...and DRY it with a dish towel I have Club, Hallite, Vita Craft and West Bent Flavor

All my aluminum looks new because I hand wash, NEVER let it soak in water, and dry after washing. Aluminum is a little bit more labor intensive but it cooks wonderfully.
