My brother's KUDS30IXBL1 has had difficulty filling after the first garbage flush cycle for about a year. He's been resetting it with the circuit breaker.
It finally became ineffective and when he prompted for codes he got a 6-4, 6-2, and 6-1 (newest to oldest).
He is puzzled because it does fill and flush just fine during the test cycle. He gets 1075 ohms for the coil on the fill valve. The overfill switch works fine. I suggested the fill valve coil may open up as it warms during use. Any opinions ?
He says:
"Float moves freely, when up, switch loses continuity (it opens).
I assume F9 is good since pump empties the water during diag test, and it measures 0.2 ohms.
When drain hose is disconnected from sink drain and filled with water, water does not drain back into dishwasher.
I doubt there is any debris clogging the emulsifier, as I rinse dishes thoroughly before loading.
No problem with suds. When starting the diagnostic program, it gives a readout of previous errors. There were three previous errors. 6 - 1, 6-2, 2-1.
I am inclined to pitch this thing. I see where a couple of wires must have been hot because they melted the black coating on the inside door panel. Wires look okay though."
