I had posted this question on another website for opinions, but would like to hear from everyone here. I am in need of a new coffee maker but just don't like any of the ones that I see in stores or online. I definitely need a pot so Keurig is out. I love the look of the Bunn machines but I am paranoid of leaving it plugged in/on to keep the tank of water hot. What does everyone here use?

My Bunn is the daily driver on my 3rd one since the first one in 1978.  This one is the thermal caraf and really like it.  Oly turn it off when on vacation.  Coffee in 3 minutes and hot water too.  i have perculators and vacuum pots plus Chemex and french press.  Can't go wrong in my book for the Bunn.

Contour

I recently bought a new Kitchenaid Contour 14 cup coffee maker. Its design is pleasant but the function is not without issues. The clock is needlessly difficult to program although it functions fine after its set. The brew basket is concealed behind a wide silver door that makes getting the basket lined up in the grooves hard to do without looking. The coffee pot brews slowly. The finished product...excellent. I gave the coffee maker to my son and daughter in law and went back to using my original Kitchenaid KCM5340B whihc is easier, faster and less occluded.

I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew. I like it, but after 4 years of use the "teeth" that attaches the blade to the spindle in the base has worn, and now grinding basket doesn't want to come out. It's a discontinued model and I can't find another one.

I have the Cuisinart Burr Grind & Brew and after having to return my first two (subsequently realizing that it was my own user error that caused them to fail) I'm very happy with this machine.  The filter basket lid is a bit fussy and there are maintenance routines for the ground coffee chute but these are not show-stoppers.  I have the model with the glass carafe that uses a warming plate.  I find Cuisinart's  thermal carafe to be very annoying to pour out of.

We've had this DeLonghi for at least 3 years. It tells you when it's time to descale the tank and that's probably why it has lasted this long. We replaced the carafe after the first one developed a dribble between the plastic collar and the glass bowl.

Bunn

I am on my second one, the first lasted 18 years. Just because it is plugged in all the time doesn't mean it's on. It's like a water tank, once the water is hot it turns off.

Try it, you know you want to.

I have 2 Bunn units.....

a VPR series pour-over with 2 hot plates....110 power

and a "S" series, with 3 hot plates, hooked up to water supply, and the hot water spout....220 power.....

plus a twin hot plate server.....

love the 3 minute brewing, and yet still not fast enough for hubby....he's a coffee achiever.....lol.....more like a grump without it....
