Hey guys was in the supermarket today and as always I take a look in the laundry isle to see if there are any new products. I noticed on a Liquid Cold Power bottles lid a sticker with "Coming Soon 2XUltra Concentrate visit www.2xUltra.com well the link is dead and was wandering if any Aussies have any info on these new products? I'm in Adelaide so maybe the eastern states have already got the new products. Hopefully Colgate get rid of that chalky glug they called detergent and we get a nice gel like liquid. Any info would be appreciated
Thanks guys
Jim

did not see today

Hi Jim,
We went grocery shopping today and I did not notice them in the laundry aisle of my local Coles,I agree with you too about Colgate's liquids, thick, gluggy and chalky we bought liquid Cold Power last time and while it works quite well, at times it left chalky type marks on my work trousers so no more.
Today Coles had a good special on Duo powder a 3kg box for just $7.00, so we bought some to try it, have you ever tried Duo before? it comes in 3 fragrances, frangipanni, fresh linen and i think the 3rd was lavender, it comes with a built in fabric softener (which I don't really like),however 1 box won't do any harm.
Cheers.
Steve.

Hey Steve
I called Colgate today and they wern't able to give any information. I was in another area today and went into the supermarket to get dinner organised and the stickers were on the Cold Power bottles Time will reveal all. I have tried Duo it's ok in cleaning I don't like to buy it as it does not have a re closable lid. I always end up spilling. Enjoy your Duo and keep me posted if you see anything

I wonder?????

Hi Jim,
I have been wondering if these new products might be Colgate's answer to Omo and Surf small and mighty, kind of like Cold Power/ Dynamo small and mighty?again like you I hope they are not thick liquid gunk.
Cheers,
Steve.

Well I am wandering if they are actually borrowing from Proctor and Gambles marketing over in the US. They had the 2xUltra, they also have Tide with a touch of Downy, our answer Cold Power with a touch of cuddly, Downy Pure Essentials, Cuddly Pure Essentials coincidences? We may never know lol. But definately as has happened in the US and UK I think retailers are also demanding smaller packaging as they can fit more on shelves and use less space. I think also that most consumers out there don't pay attention to measuring instructions and over use product. So they will make detergent with smaller doses an over sized measuring cap and all of a sudden people are using more detergent. Look at the cuddly Ultra it says fill to line, you need light as bright as the MCG to see a fill line which is only 1/2 a cap most people just fill the cap so you basically use double. How ever I still love a new product hopefully they are good. Omo S&M is a very good liquid cleans great and I like that Unilever have a single dose lid.

Duo...

Can't help with the Cold Power, but I have used Duo regularly since it first came out in about 1996/7....

The original was fantastic...then came the front load version which was great..but they still gave a front load dose on the top load powder so I used it and doubled my pack size (so to speak) or halved my cost...

They introduced fabric conditioner a few years ago and I stopped buying it as they removed the enzymes at the same time. I have since tried the new version with conditioner AND enzymes and am very happy with it....

...though I have to admit to being a bit of a laundry product tart....

I use Duo on a semi regular basis. In WA they have a couple of scents available, Fresh Linen, Wild Lotus Lily (or something) and Jasmine and Orange. I just use regular Fresh Linen, does an awesome job.
I also am a big fan of the colgate liquids, i use Dynamo liquid a lot and always get good results, i quite like the thick liquid and never have a problem with chalky residue.
What are everyones opinions on Drive?
Matt

Hey Matt
Drive is a great powder, loved the Liquid when it was around but sadly it's gone. I know you don't like the smell of Omo but it really is a nice detergent. I don't like the thick gluggy liquids by Colgate hopefully they will change. I bet you miss UK detergents and softeners

Drive

Hi Matt,
To be totally honest we haven't used Drive for years so I could not give you a really honest opinion, just never really liked it.
Have you ever tried the Woolworths Select generic products, as well as buying the Duo the other day, I also bought a bottle of Woolworths liquid with eucalyptus, great fragrance, the only thing it is thick like Dynamo and Cold Power,I am glad you haven't had any problems with the Colgate liquids, but I find at times they leave worse streaks than powders, particularly on my black work trousers.
It may be my own fault though, perhaps I was just using a bit too much and yes I am a real tart with laundry products differnet ones each time, but you know what they say variety is the spice of life.
Cheers.
Steve.
P.S. What was your favourite British detergent?

my favourite british detergent is Ariel bio, always seems to do an awesome job. I am having some Daz and Ariel Excel Gel sent over as an xmas present so will see how they perform.
I am going to try to Woolworths liquid at some point as i have started using more and more Woolworth Select items as they seem to be really good. I have to admit i have a few too many products at the minute so wil have to wait till they get used up more.
