Hi all!

Concerning washing machine I posted it here instead of the yellow forum...

This is how I went up with my collection exhibition during the European Week of Waste Reduction, just to show people how a 40 (and more!!) years old washing machine when is a well-done stuff and well-don restorated object can go on doing its work properly just like those thousands of plastic washing machine we saw going so fast to be disposed...

The machine will be exposed until next sunday.

Ciao VivaLaLavatrice.
Your exhibition looks great.
Did I see an Electrolux (mid 1970's) to the right ?
The Ignis ,Candy and Indesit models you have are splendid.
Kindest regards.
Louis.

Excellent! People do need to be reminded like this when we live in an age of "going green." It never ceases to amaze me how people overlook the fact that planned obsolescence is a major contributor to the global solid waste problem. Aside from all of us, there must be other people who would want their appliances to last 30, 40, or 50 years.

Congratulations Diomede!!! How fun. John Lefever and Tom Turbo had some of their machines in a museum in New York City back in the early 90's. I believe it was called "Mechanical Brides", I saw the exhibit long before I met either of them.

Hi Diomede

Looks great!

Would love to see what is on those posters - they look very interesting!

Now that machine on the right. Methinks its a Zanussi machine, but is it badged a REX or something else?

Oh to have a room like that to display all the UK collectors machines. Would be manna from heaven!
Like walking through a mixture of 1950s and 60's departments stores, 1970s electricity board shops and 1980's branches of Currys, Rumbelows and Comet - all rolled into one.

That would be one hell of an exhibition!

Can but dream.

Paul

Viva la Provincia Granda !!

Grande Diomede !!!
After "Bra" cheese, Nutella and white truffles, washers will be the next celebrity in the Big Province !!
I really didn't know Bra municipality got five stars for waste recycling
I'll come and see (hope fog get better - can't see beyond my nose this evening).

Paul, you're right, here REX is the main zann-badge. Time ago we saw the Zanussi badge too, but only on the zannies sold at Expert stores. Go figure even the Affinity coming from the States is badged REX-Electrolux :)

Louis (Deeprinser) : call it again "Electrolux" and I'll say "Candy-Candy-Candy" to every Keymatic left on earth *LOL*.
It was made long before E'lux got Zanussi (it's the series before the Washcrafts)

Ciao
Carlo

Thanks all!!!

At end I got to stand there with my babies but really you can't imagine how I'm suffering without them here at home!!

People were literaly fascinated by the two machines on left going on (loop) for all the opening period. I just filled them and bypassing the pressureswitch and disabling the drain and the spin I got my "exhibition cycle"!!

The best view thoug was the Superautomatica... lot and lot of people have recognized The Granny's washers in her...

Now we've repositioned them all for nex saturday... but in the mean time here you are the video of the pics my Light Director did...

PS: Carlo... giusto domani sono giù ad Alba e ci passo a 30mt da dove fanno la Nutella ma ti assicuro che non è affatto un buon odore piacevole... alla lunga disgusta!!
