Old Victrolas and Electolas from the 1920's

Only collect the first electrically amplified machines from the Orthophonic era. Some have the very first record changers made for home use. Also collect the records to play on them, mostly popular music, hot jazz and dance band's from the late 1920's and early 1930's.

Autowasherfreak, any interest in a Xerox 800 Electronic Typing System (from the 1970's) or an IBM MT/ST (Magnetic Tape/Selectric Typewriter) from the 1960's? The MT/ST was one of the first, if not the first word processing typewriter ever - it records the keystrokes for later playback and editing on 16mm film that has a magnetic coating. The 800 was Xerox's first entry into the market in the 1970's. If so, drop me a note.

WOW..this is fun. We collect Jewel T autumn leaf dish and oven ware. We have a nice collection. Also collect vintage christmas decor and lights. I collect ceramic santa and snowmen cookie jars. We are up to 6 vacuums now. It is not a Saturday for us if we don't go to garage sales or thrifting. We have met a lot of great people along the way as well. Have a great week....Dano

45 rpm records, but not LP's

Kind of fell into this by virtue of the fact that my OM was a jukebox repairman. A lot of my collection are "demo" records that may/may not have been in general release. I have several of these for "The Chipmunk Song". When rock-n-roll first got popular, lots of the luncheonette owners, etc. didn't want it on their "boxes", so they ended up being brought home for me. Yes, I still play all of them often but my OM was never generous enough to restore a jbox for me. :(

To this day, whenever I go someplace with a jukebox, I will ALWAYS play it:

"The dime you put into the slot
Supports dad's pay, so thanks a lot!"

The Rock N Roll Room

Finally moved a bunch of boxes out to the garage and cleaned out what will soon be my "Rock n roll Room". So far I have crammed in there the 73 console, Seeburg, the 2 small Magnavox record players and a crapload of records (THANKS RICKR!).

We also have a collection of stoveplates. These were the sides of a stove called a 5 plate Jamb Stove. The writing is in german, as the new residents brought their language and traditions to this area. These particular plates were cast in 1742 at an unknown PA furnace. We just happened across both sides at different places & times. One side came from an Ohio auction & the other from an Allentown, PA auction.

Model cars its gotten so out of control i had to put them in plastic bins and store them in the basement of course they are triple wraped in newspaper and cotton and shirts to support them LOLZ i have 1 ex large tub filled with them and 2 medium sized ones.....its an addiction! which has now been replaced with occasional smoking!

Smaller items that are in their original boxes or packaging always catch my eye but I'm being way more selective so as not to accumulate stuff I'll never use or have out. Latest acquisition is a HB electric knife in wall mount caddy that I found in its original box. Works fine and is much nicer looking than the late model ergonomic B&D we have, and with the caddy we'll always know exactly where to find it. And I'm always on the lookout for 45's for my jukebox.

I also have gotten into phones again, and am now focusing on the WE model 500's that date back to 1949. My partner always lets his imagination get the best of him and will complain about transmission issues when talking on an older WE 302 or 202 set, but nobody ever questions a 500 model. Most of us grew up using them and we know they work fine. Household vintage phone problem solved! Now if I can find a model 5302, I can trick everybody into thinking they're using a 500 model when really they're using a re-cased model 302.
