Detroit has been hit sooo hard by the demise of the american car industry. My aunt lives there and works as a rental agent for an apartment complex. Last time i spoke with her she was renting apartments for like $499 for a 2 bedroom

$235K??? Wow in Gross Point.. Oh my... Well i wouldn't wanna live there at all.. I have been up there 5 or 6 times and thats enough for me. West Bloomfield and Waterford is what i am familar with and there just ok..

Yes you could..start packing and I'll come over and help you unload, it's only about 40 min drive from here. Think of the vacuums you could fill those houses with.. LOL Last time I drove by there was 2 summers ago when my cousins were visiting from the UK we followed the river home, took some little detours up and down the streets, very nice, I never imagined those houses would ever be that cheap, comparitivly speaking, I thought they'd be in the 600k range for sure if not more.

LOL...

Pete for a second I thought you were gonna say you'd help unload the vacuums into your trunk for the ride back to your house!

Yes we could get alot of vacuums into those houses!

$229K is nothing....

For the same house here in San Diego, CA.... you're looking at least $1M. My little two bedroom (1500 sq.ft.) house was appraised last year for over $500K. Even though house costs are increasing around the country, nothing can compare, save San Francisco or New York City, with the price explosion here in southern California in the last few years.

In my area, there are many houses like the one Hoover1060 posted, they rarely go over $100,000. The first ones posted by Petek are cheap, even in my area those kind of houses usually go for more - where I was raised in Plano, Texas, they would bring $350,000 or even much more.

Yeah, the same 1500sq ft house would probably average around $140k US in Sarnia, back in Calgary and Toronto it would be closer to $350 and probably much more in certain parts of Vancouver.

Those houses in Detroit are amazingly low priced Pete, they're so cheap let's just put one on our revolving charge plate LOL! Here they would be $800,000 minimum.

Simce the basement is full up, I need more room for more washers so it's time to move. We're trying to decided whether we want to move into Here or Here or even Here.

The stairway in the second house just screams gay! I love that.

There was an article in the business section of the Houston Chronicle with the heading, "Michigan Facing Exodus of Jobless". The layoffs in the auto industry are primarily to blame, with more to come. Even Pfizer (pharmaceutical) is getting in on the layoff act. They seem unable to attract new business/industry. Michigan has "one of the nation's highest outmigration rates."

The article continued to state that personal income in Michigan has been below the national average since 2000. In addition, they have a struggling housing market with sales of existing homes dropping more than 20 percent in some parts of the state. Even bleaker are the foreclosure and personal bankruptcy numbers; they are soaring.

This might explain why those housing prices look so good. Ok, you buy the mini mansion for a great price...what do you do for a living?

Hmmmph and once we move in

The 3rd offering Robert linked has a classic stainless double DishDrawer.

Now picture a pink '56 Frigidaire spray tube dishwasher in it's place.
