A city with undervalued housing, a glorious past, and tons of cool buildings crying out for redevelopment...

I smell a golden gay opportunity here- sort of a Palm Springs East, on a larger scale (not architecturally, just in terms of historic renovation). That city proves you can take a whole town nobody else wanted and turn it into something terrific.

You know, you don't HAVE to build cars there...

This is my favourite style. Modern version of a traditional house. I love straight lines. Unfortunately no basement, so I'm not going to move.

This is about 2 miles from me, just over into Elk Grove Village. This is a bit much for my budget, but big enough for vacuums and some appliances, and check out that Kitchen!!
Centex built this one, subdivision is Winston Grove.

Oh Louis, that first house has your name written all over it Louis XiV. Now that second house is one of my favorite styles as well, Frank Lloyd Wright ish.. There was one similar built a few years ago near our place back in Calgary but on a much much much smaller scale and nowhere near as grand as that one but it was beautiful to look at and the inside was gorgeous. Unfortunately we couldn't afford it at the time and probably couldn't afford it now either..LOL
