Glad you appreciated the humor. As a type 2 diabetic, I now avoid high fructose anything. And I also avoid the artificial sweeteners, as it's evident that they tend to throw the body's natural ability to detect when it's had enough carbs out of whack (or so I've read). In fact I would take sucrose over fructose, and sucrose over artificial sweeteners - unless I'm very thirsty and there's no water and only diet soda available.
But I do admit that some of the new trendy soft drinks can be very tasty.
I actually do my my own refresher occasionally:
12 oz filtered ice water (the fridge dispenser does just fine)
4 oz fresh squeezed lime juice to taste.
four tsp table sugar (sucrose) to taste.
Mix well (sugar takes a while to dissolve).
Tastes as good if not better than the stuff you can pay $2 or more per can. And probably healthier, with the natural vitamins from the juice.
