Has anyone ever noticed that on Frigidaire 1-18 washers the agitator doesn't have a lower skirt, vanes, or any of that-it is just a column of cones one on top of another in the center of the tub-a very unusual looking agitator. I remember one of the first times ever seeing one, it was obviously designed to agitate up-and-down.

That's the idea

It also has a plasticky, flexible black pulsator underneath the last cone that helps foosh the water out the bottom. (That's a technical description, btw. I promise you that it exists in my TechTalk manual for the S-Line washers...)

The cones help pull clothes down, and create the patented crossmojonational water currents that we so love :-)

ha ha all i know is that i love mine..and what a wonderful job it does too...sort of sad to think that it went by the way side..

Yeah, gansky, now let's see you get it closed again. The position in which the cover is perfectly closed and sealed is always in between notches on the chain. Been there, done that.
