I am seriously considering shelling out $500 to $600 for a brand new Speed Queen top-loading washer for my new building-rather than spend it on fixing up that GE old-style washer with the $500 to $600+I cannot bear the thought of a transmission boot pulling loose, and water flooding my new building-GE old style parts are getting obsolete as well. Also, where is the lid safety switch on the current Speed Queen top loading washers-I want to be able to watch it agitate and spin, lid open. Do they have off-balance switches?
