Maytag...The Town!!!

Really was an interesting experience to see the Maytag stores and County Museum, it sure was worth it for them at the till!!!

I hope its a good outcome for the company and by fortune they are able to keep operating ...with a US parent..heres hoping.

We all said our goodbyes at the museum and whent on our merry way....those of us travelling back to Mnneapolis encountered a most vicious storm with golf balls of hail, black skys rain & sleet and needing four eyes to stay on the highway!!!

All I needed next was a twister!!!! (no not Toggleswitch...LOL) never needed a G&T sooooooo much in my life...and after we outrun the storm it swirled ahead and met us 3 miles from Minnie.....too much excitment for the lad from the UK...

Residing in Minneapolis for the last night
UK journey home tomorrow
Sad to leave, but one day nearer my next visit.....YAY!!!

Looks like you guys had a blast! One day I've got to get down to that museum and see these machines. From the pics it looks like an old-fashioned mill/warehouse setup, I'm thinkin' something like that could come in handy one day : )

Im gonna die now....right now......:-(

Sorry,

I was uninformed, and again...said that totally out of charachter. Please forgive Robert...diddn't mean to make things uncomfortable.

I was just like...woah who's that? And now I know and am beyond embarrassed, and humbled into silence...

And for the record, I too am taken for four years now. But I will admit when I see a handsome one...Even Marty knows that.

Im gonna go and hide for a long long long long while.....

Chad....The biggest doof in the entire universe..

Hiding

Just because we're "taken" doesn't mean we're DEAD! And even if I was "taken" and somebody said that about me, I'd be flattered that I still "have it" and somebody noticed. :-)

Being taken....

Just because you are on a diet, doesn't mean you can't look at the menu..... just don't eat anything.

OK Mike,
TOGGLESWITCH= TWISTER?
LOL ROFL LMAO. [It's so nice to be loved!!!]
I promise you this, your wedding band or not, you are in serious trouble, Mister. At our next face-to-face meeting, I may not hold back with you next-time!!!!!

Perhaps we should have the next one in Las Vegas, Nevada.
What happens in L.V. stays in L.V.!!!!!

Seriously though..I had the time of my life. Thanks to all.

Sorry to hear the trip back to Minny was rough..

Poor Louis, I believe he said it was very bumpy on the way down to Nebraska as well.

I wish that all of you could have made the pilgrimage to Newton with us. Last year when I visited Greg we took a trip over there also on a Monday only to discover the factory store closed. Greg planned ahead this year and called them to see if they could arrange to be open for us. I am sure they were glad they did as we all bought a bunch of things. The museum was a real treat as well and it really helped me to put together a better understanding of the the history of Maytag. After seeing Greg's wonderful model 160 and the inside of the machine I have a new respect and fondness for Maytag. These machines seem to have been built like no others. They may not have been the most exciting machine but they sure were the best built. Looking through one of the books on the history of Maytag that Greg had I was amazed to learn what a wonderful company they were to work for in their "hay day". They had their own doctor at the factory and took care of all their employees medical needs. They had buses that went to all neighborhoods in Newton and picked you up for work as well as took you home. Working at Maytag was like being part of a big family. Too bad we can't buy the company and start something like that today. I am so grateful that I had the chance to get back there one last time for I fear that Maytag is not long for Newton. Terry
