Sandy, didn't Atlanta sell off their water system? I thought it was privatized back in the 90's or something.

Our water system was contracted out to a French company that operated here as United Water. Soon after, our crumbling water infrastructure started catching up with us, with sinkholes swallowing cars on major thoroughfares (LITERALLY). The French are now gone, sadder but wiser. The mayor who thought we should have the Olympics instead of sound water mains is in Federal prison, though not on charges related to that particular bit o' foolishness. Atlanta has a new mayor who is committed to addressing the infrastructure issues.
