Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Kenny,

Wow what a looker.  This one is post-1976, so the color is 'Coffee'.  I looked through the catalogs that I have and it is not shown in any of them - with one exception.  The 1982 Sweets insert is the first year for OTR microwaves, and this particular range is shown under one of the microwave ovens.  There is no mention of the range, no model number.  It appears to be an upgraded version of the JB500GW that I have in Almond.  The 500 has a digital clock in place of the touch-panel clock on this one.

A fine range at an excellent price.

My mother had that stove and harvest gold in our kitchen

My mother got that range in harvest Gold in 1980 and it was in our kitchen until the 2000 remodel, and it was a very good range. those glass touch controls for the timer and the automatic oven and the self cleaning feature were very easy to set just the lightest touch your finger on the glass panel would activate the buttons, but it had to be a definite touch with the finger not just the brushing of the hand . When my folks remodeled the kitchen they gave the stove to my brother-in-law’s parents and they used it for about five years at their summer cottage until they moved there full -time and remodeled the kitchen. The stove is the top-of-the-line 30 inch GE for that era . It also had a rotisserie attachment that my mother only used a few times but she was afraid she would damage the rotisserie motor because she could never get the chicken to be centered on the spit and so she was afraid it would put too much strain on the motor, my mom said she would’ve kept it when we remodeled had it been white instead of harvest gold . I have seen that above stove in a 1980 GE catalog and I know my mother got that same stove and harvest gold in early 1980 because I have seen the receipt for it because my parents saved receipts when they bought major things like appliance’s PATRICK COFFEY

1980 coffee colored 30 inch GE range

This was a pretty stove and coffee, it’s a shame that coffee didn’t last that long after they got rid of the shading.

I have a customer in Georgetown that has this stove in white, the clock assembly died about a decade ago, and I had to bypass it so that she could still self clean the oven but the stove is still going I’m sure the clock was ultimately the weak spot of the stove.

As pretty as the stove is, it looks like the porcelain cooktop finish is destroyed around the right front burner from misuse, too bad you never find a good cooktop for it.
