COPPERTONE LADY SET FOUND

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Wow Jim

Nice find! I love TOL washers and dryers you never have restrictions with TOL!!
Coppertone is the best vintage color I like it better than pink or turquoise. It reminds me of Root Beer.

Congrats to you and handsome Lou for hauling those up from oblivion. I know what that is like!
Last weekend Greg & Steve and I did the same thing with that 400 pound Combo and at the top of the stairs there was only 1/2 inch clearance.
Clever idea the rug trick , I've used that before. Its amazing how a simple rug can beat out a nice steel handtruck sometimes.
But when its an addiction -its NEVER a problem and there is always room --right??

Great LK set! That skirtless/baseless agitator looks so alien. Has there ever been another one like it in any brand? We moved in 1967 and my parents bought coppertone Kenmores for the kitchen. Always liked the color. Congrats!

heat selection

MY mom had those machines, only in avacado. The heat selection was automatic...coming on high, and then gently tapering off as the load dried. Sears called it "Soft Heat". It worked great and you only had to choose the dryness level. That was controlled by the dial on the console.

Wow, another great Kenmore find!

Congratulations Jim, what awesome machines, looks like they've cleaned up quite nicely as well, and with the baseless Roto-Flex no less! You'll have hours of fun with that.

Approximately what year are these, and was the Roto-Flex offered for more than one year? Someone told me it was 1965 only, but these panels look newer. Enlighten me, please!

Thanks everyone !

1. The buttons on the dryer are only "heat", "no heat", and "start". The dial controls the dryness level.

2. The model number is S-6605902C. I'm guessing by the first two digits that it's a 1966 model.

3. Yes, I also hope that I can get it up and running with a minimum of fuss.

different buttons?

Wow, this is interesting, where is the enzyme soak or cold rinse? Maybe this one is more "top of the line" than mine?

Jim that is a beautiful set and a great find. With just a bit of TLC I bet they will be good as new. Thanks for sharing with us.

WOWO!

These are my dream Kennies. I actually had the washer (in white) around 1980 or so, but the dryer never surfaced- it seems that many LK customers got an attack of budgetitis when it came time to choose a dryer and bought a 700 or something. So I never did complete the pair.

One of my high school teachers used to borrow her folks' house for student get-togethers (like cast parties for school plays- Mrs. Givens was our drama teacher), and her mom had this identical coppertone pair in a very snazzy kitchen with plaid wallpaper. The coppertone went with the plaid perfectly.

The mention of the aqua pair makes Baby drool. That is my dream colour for this pair.

Don't Go Down There! It's Dark!

As Bugs Bunny would say! *LOL*

Neat save and a wonderful find!

Had sort of the same problem when I went to pick up my portable Whirlpool dryer. Poor me assumed how heavy a portable dryer could be, boy was I wrong! Complicating matters was like your situation, the stairs were narrow, made of wood, and all in all not to sturdy. Makes one wonder how they get things down there in the first place!

Steven, 1966 was too early for the enzyme soak cycle. Back in 1966 one didn't worry about a cold rinse option for cottons cycles. Alays warm, me thinks. I think I see a cold water wash button though.
