Here is my 1970's Wilkins Servis Twin Tub in Coppertone i bought off Aussie ebay for AU$20.00. After 4 failed attempts to get it to my state, it finally arrived this week. It was from a deceased estate and works well. Before anybody asks, i THOUGHT i had made a short video to post on Youtube, BUT...i used the wrong setting on my new digital camera....will have to put it through a cycle again...

Wow - never seen a twinny before with a choice of slow/fast spin speeds! I'm by no means an expert on Servis, but don't even think the UK models ever had such a facility.

Great looking machine BTW :o).

Coppertone!!

Hi Leon

Fantastic, a Servis Supertwin MK3 Model 70 as known in the UK, this was the re-designed machine using the Two Stage Agitator with "Snap-On" Power Fin...Does it have the lint filter in as well?? AND in "Coppertone" no less...perfect...

NOW....whats all this with fast spin/slow spin?? is it a timed setting?? also appears not to have a heater, enquiring minds need to know...LOL

Whats the spin can like and does the Flow Rinse work?? This model was also shipped to the states to be built and badged for Speed Queen etc... a real Servis workhorse...

Heres a pic of the UK Model 70

Helloooooo Mike!!!

Hey Mike

Thought you’d like….

Now….Does it have the lint filter as well??
Yes…just like your’s…it has the lint filter too

Fast / Slow Spin: Yes…you can choose a different spin speed depending on fabrics: but the agitation speed stays the same.

Timed Setting: The timer is for the agitation only…you can keep the spin cycle going for as long as you want.

Heater??: It actually does have a heater….have a look at the dial next to “wash”…you’ll see “Heat”

Flow Rinse?? Yes…the flow rinse works fine….and boy…does it spin fast!

By the way Mike, I love your collection and did you check out my Wilkins Servis pics in the other thread?? I do hope you find the “Mark 22” one day…you might have better luck then me as there were not many sold in Australia..

Leon

Too cool! How does the lint filter work? Does it move through the agitator (holes in the skirt) or is it just a slosh-through? I have a one from the early Speed Queen automatics that is simply a slosh-over type but it's not very effective.

Thanks for the pics, I've always wanted to play with the Speed Queen version of this here...

Servis

GREEEEAATTT MACHINE!!!
I love twinnies - best machines ever built!
None more versatile, none faster, none more economical and therefore ecological (when all facts gathered)!
