Yes indeed, that switchboard belongs to me. It's a Western Electric 556A manual auxilliary PBX. The one most people remember is the 555 which was a totally manual switchboard. I picked this one up in Chicago from a collector who didn't have it working. It was originally installed at a Board of Trade firm downtown and stored in a garage for many years. It took me six months to diagnose the circuits and find out what was wrong, but she's up and working now. All wired to punch down blocks in the basement with both AC and DC power supplies. This one is a bit unusual in that it works on 48VDC instead of 24. I even have original headsets and a Western Electric switchboard chair. All ready for Ernestine. My interest stemmed from working my way through high school and college working the big toll switchboards at the phone company like the one below (It was highly unusal at the time to have a male in that role.)
