IIRC these were solid appliances for a good reason

Back in the day, GM Frigidaire made almost all of the Corning Cooking appliances that I was aware of and they were built to last. My uncle still cooks on a Corning/Frigidaire stove that was bought in 1974. It was the first Corning stove model that didn't require the Corning cookware; instead, the user needed to use normal cookware with very flat bottoms. The oven was repaired once, but all the flat-top burners still work.

Corning Double Wall Oven

This has NOTHING to due with Frigidaire GM appliances, this oven is entirely made by Chambers, and was a troublesome piece of junk. These were also sold under the WP and KM names and then Hobart bought Chambers and then the KA name.

Only free standing single oven ranges were made by Frigidaire for the first Corning ranges, and by 1974 when they came out with the cook-top that could use any flat cookware Corning was building the complete range and they were not all that great, they had lots of wiring problems, door hinge and latch problems as well.

Here's the original Corning range that John has, this is the one that was made by Frigidaire. Look at the clock that was also used on many Frigidaire ranges.

John, when they went to the non-divided top, were Corning ranges still made by Frigidaire?

Frigidaire Built Corning Ranges

Hi Phil, I don't know for sure if any Frigidaire built ranges for Corning ever had the one piece cook-top, I do know that the FD association with Corning did not last long, I only ever saw a few FD built Corning ranges and lots of the junky Corning built ranges.
