Wells Gardner

Coronado, like other private label brands, used various vendors during their years marketing televisions. There could easily be a dozen vendors who made TVs under that name.
However, if it is a console TV, the most likely vendor was Wells Gardner. They were clearly the king of relabeled televisions especially the popular wood consoles.
They were based in Chicago and still have an office here - very near to my house. They went from king of department store television manufacturing to the king of video monitors for pinball games, lottery machines and Las-Vegas style gaming devices.

Rural televisions

There was only one manufacturing difference I can think of regarding the rural TV.
Some inexpensive televisions had only two I.F. amplifiers. Those TVs worked poorly in rural areas. For that reason retailers located far away from the city probably stayed away from selling those.

Not many people have heard of Wells Gardner

Wells Gardner made a lot of TVs and they were of very good quality. They also made many stereo consoles. Some radio chassis for VM were Wells-Gardner. Most old TV techs can recognize a WG chassis on sight.
Very early on they marketed some product under their name, but that ended pretty early (1940's?) Afterward it was largely private-label.
Very generally speaking, If the unit is basic, not too fancy 19" to 25" and a department store brand - it could be Wells Gardner. A trick is to look at the model number. In some cases the model number began with WGEC which stood for Wells Gardner Electronics Company.
Sears used a different company - also a "W" company to make their TVs during the "console" years and that was Warwick. Warwick ended up in Whirlpool's hands and later Sanyo. Warwick was the evolution of Pacific Mercury Electronics and some other company that I cannot remember.
If my memory serves me right, Wells Gardner stopped TV production in the 1980s with the "Majestic" brand. I think they sourced the parts from (nearby) Zenith.
