I only presume so because your house is in such nice condition, like it is in a nice part of Redford, older Livonia, or Green Acres at 8 mile and Woodward.
Most of the east side neighborhoods like those are run down. Even east Outer drive, and over near St. John Hospital where the police and fireman used to live.
There are a few nice small pockets off of Moross close to Grosse Pointe woods and shores. Even Harper Woods has become much less than desirable.
I don't mean to condescend anyone's area if you or they are the last left there who keep a nice place now. I've seen plenty of homes fenced in with nice cyclone or other to keep out the local plight.
Detroit will come back. It takes time. I'm sure many European cities have been through the aging and renewal process over the centuries.
