hello to all aw before a call to a service tech is made or replacement considered could anyone help me pinpoint the problem no error code but i suspect its the control board its a 17 year old g1 duet purchuse in 2004 put a load in the dryer press start 1 second later dryer stop sensor light remians on but no tumbeling including a video taken with ipad

have you tried unplugging the unit?...

you would have to check with YT, but I think there is a way to access the hidden error codes.....

There's a safety switch that prevents the machine from starting if the belt breaks but the control panel probably still otherwise operates.

Check if the drum turns by hand easier than it should.  Or take off the top panel (screws at the corners on back) to check if the belt is broken.  It's (normally) visible wrapped around top of the drum.  Won't be there if it broke and fell down to the bottom.  Or could still be laying around top of the drum but loose, not engaged to the motor and idler pulley.

You may also have a failed solder joint on the motor relay. This is located on the control/relay board. I would resolder these when I found them on service calls, but sometimes you get lucky and it is a belt switch.

Personally and this is just in my opinion, I would try and have the Duet fixed if you can. I've used both the TR7 and the Duet. While I like the TR7, however though, I personally like the Duet better. I've even used a pre 2017 SQ top loader before and I still like the Duet better. It cleans better, it uses less water, and it's slightly more energy efficient. Plus it probably would be cheaper to repair it anyways. Speed Queen just recently raised their prices this year. And what if you wouldn't like the SQ and you wanted the Duet back? To me that is a risk. But ultimately it's up to you and I wish of you the best of luck on your decision.

I second Pierreandreply4's post. Its time to consider the best washer and second best dryer that money can buy. You can go front load, TR or TC, all 3 options are amazing in their own way. You will be glad you did every moment of existence.
