Here is a thread I started years ago on a countertop dishwasher I have in my utility room. I use it as an overflow machine mostly and I have to say it does a great job. I don't know if your desire for this type of machine has to do with not having the proper plumbing or not. If you have the plumbing, you can get a model like the one in my thread for less than this machine and I suspect you'll get more in it and probably have better results.
I picked this one up off of CL for $50 years ago and it's been a solid performer. There are many more options today than there were then.
I don't know that we've done one of these. If we have, I missed it. Yesterday morning my kitchen sink stopped up so I decided to use the Countertop dishwasher that I have in my utility room. These things run as long as most modern dishwashers. They heat the water, have a rinse aid dispenser...
Looks nice.. Has a built in water reservoir (I thought it was a built in heater) but for $399! I would doubt it cleans as well as a real dishwasher.. I've had a couple full size portables and they have been great, but do take up a lot of real estate in a small kitchen.
