Bad Bad People

I guess bad people were using it to scam sellers from afar. That's the only reason I can think of to kill it off.

But you know when I bought my refrigerator from South Dakota and had it shipped to California, the seller was cool as long as I paid by cashier's check.

I want Craiglook back.

I loved Craiglook

I used craiglook often while it was 'alive'. I have about 50 guitars and various other stringed instruments here (I build them too). In the past year I went on a freakish buying spree for Ovation guitars (the odd roundback guitars like Glen Campbell used, for those not familiar). I think I have 16 now. Since I rebuild them often, I always look for broken ones to rebuild or scavenge for parts. I've scored a few off craiglook... although it's only been about a 20% success rate in convincing them to box and ship, even though I'm obviously paying shipping.

One of my better scores was a factory prototype for the 1983 Ovation Collector's Edition model. Mine pre-dates the sequentially numbered ones that actually hit the market. #1 went to Daryl Hall, #2 went to Nancy Wilson of Heart. Mine's serial number is the date it was made (12-15-82). The guy didn't know or care what he had, but it took a few months of 'oh by the way, I'm still here' emails before he gave up on selling locally.

I fear there are basket case Ovations that will end up at the curb because I'm not there to resucitate.
